New Addition!

My gosh, I cant believe that the last time I updated my blog was in June - that is shocking! I guess a lot has happened in my life over the last two months and literally I cant believe that time has gone by so quickly. First of all, I must introduce my "Great" nephew - Jonathan David Rosedale - born on 30 July at 10:15 am at Middlemore hospital in Auckland. I have to say that his birth was not the easiest or the smoothest, but at the end of the day, the Lord was very faithful to us and with a little help of a very switched on professional doctor, he was born healthy and is ever so beautiful. I have to say that I fell in love with him the moment he was born.! He is so very cute and definitely has his "Great" Aunt wrapped around his little finger - and he doesnt even know it!!!!! Toni did so well in her labour and I am so very proud of her. Naomi and I were her support people during her labour and I thought we made a very good team. While one was giving out the oxygen, and saying "breathe" to Toni, the other was wiping her forehead and holding her hand whilst she was having a contraction. There was one time (which we laugh about now) that Toni was asking for oxygen to help with the contractions, I was giving her the pipe to breathe from, when the midwife came up behind me and showed me the other end of the pipe had come out the wall without us knowing....on plugging it in - Toni exclaimed that the oxygen was too strong, so the midwife looked at me and pulled it out the wall again (of course Toni could not see this), and asked Toni if that was better............Toni nodded, so the midwife gave me the thumbs up and we left her to think she was breathing in all this oxygen that was helping her with her contractions - The midwife and I had a silent giggle! Mind over matter, I guess!!!!!! Its amazing that Jonathan is now 6 weeks old, and now focussing and beginning to give us a few smiles. I bought myself a new Sony Camera the other day (very proud of myself that I ordered it, paid for it online, without physically laying eyes on it), so I have been a happy snapper - of course all my pictures are of Jonathan!. I would love to share a few with you, and I am sure that you will agree that he is a just the cutest!
Other news is that I have now been working in New Zealand since 15th July. I have to say that this job is very different from any other role of PA I have had- not because of the job description but my two bosses (and I shall now be very careful of what I say here - as I read somewhere that one lady complained on her blog once about her boss and lost her job soon after!) They are both at times extremely demanding (I am putting it mildly) - so I have found new meaning to the term "multi-tasking"!!!! I do however feel very "stretched” and challenged in my skills, to not only remember and do things for ONE boss, but for TWO and they need it done yesterday! Also sometimes I really feel that I am from backward Africa—to work the printer for example, (which is a huge colossal machine in the front office—everyone uses—all 35 of us) was a major feat! Not only does it scan, print, receive faxes, send faxes, bind and staple documents, (ALL at the same time, - now that is what I call multi-tasking) it also has all these snazzy functions to store documents and do a whole heap of other things I have yet to master….. along with getting my mechanics face on—its my job to change the fusing oil, replace excess toner cartridges and clear paper jams—all rather daunting for this African girl! Sometimes I still stand there looking very bewildered at this hunk of plastic and metal!
Well that is all from me for now. Thank you for taking the time to read my blogg – until next time………………
